Birel Chassis

Hannen Motorsports guarantees great customer support and product availability backed by the largest distributor in the country. Do your research and Go Birel. For All Conditions. All Classes. All Climates.
27 World Championships since 1959 makes Birel a leader in it's field. The Birel chassis represents the best of the Italian breed. Umberto Sala, father of current owner Oscar Sala, built his first chassis in 1959 in Lissone, Italy. The company captured it first World Championship in 1967 at the hands of Edgardo Rossi. Since then other World Champions have names like Terry Fullerton, Riccardo Patrese, Lake Speed (USA), Stefano Modena, Mike Wilson, Gianluca Beggio. Birel had been the choice of others like Mika Hikkenen, Christian Fittipaldi, Eddy Cheever and the late Elio De Angelis.
Tim Hannen also has great experience tuning CRG and Maranello chassis, and will continue serving those customers, including having parts readily available at the Hannen Motorsports shop at Oakland Valley Race Park.
On this site you will find information on the current Birel models, complete with class & chassis specifications, and Freeline accessories.
The 2009 and 2010 models incorporate several features, including an interchangeable 25mm spindle design and FREE Hi-Tech aluminum adjustable heel-stop. In 2009, a new chassis model was introduced,
the RY30-s1, featuring all 30mm tubing and a design that provides great balance and speed in several junior and senior categories.
Engines
Welcome to New Age Karting!
The Rotax concept offers the karting enthusiast with a reliable world-wide engine platform program that offers level playing field competition and great performance. With a factory-direct motor warranty and official trained service centers throughout the country, Rotax engines provide more value than any engine package currently available in karting.
Hannen Motorsports is an Authorized Rotax Dealer and Service Center. Tim Hannen has been successfully racing in the Rotax classes since the engine was introduced for kart racing in the USA in 2001. Few people know the Rotax engine as well as Tim!
Rotax Engines have a long history of quality and ease of use. The FR125 karting engine is no different. Below is the evolution of the Rotax concept, from the fastest engine package (the DD2, 2-speed) to the most entry level package, the MicroMax, designed for ages 8-10 years old.
The evolution of engines utilizes the basis of the FR125 in various trim packages so that it is conceivable to start in MicroMax and keep your same engine throughout your karting career. How is that for cost-effective? In addition, the sealed-engine concept and engine passport system keeps a level playing field while providing you a service log of each engine you own or compete against. A complete engine service history means you have an engine that will retain its value over the years.
New for 2011
MaxSpeed Group is the new sole distributor for Rotax engines in the United States, as well as the promoter and operator of the Rotax Max Challenge USA.
